It's a good idea.
In 2003, with the help of Skellefteå Kraft, the residents of Bygdsiljum invested time and money to bring the internet to the village.
In 2009 Bygdsiljum First was created when Skellefteå Kraft began to allow other companies to provide internet access. The majority of the village elected to pay 1kr less a month and sign up to the service.
This was achieved with the support of T3 and Google. T3 supported the initiatve with access to the inernet and a belief that small ideas can make a big impact. Google supported by giving the village free email and Google services on the bygdsiljum.se domain.
The profits from the service are used for the village by the village.
